Kennedy Higdon and Pete Friedrich, the founders of Global Ad Distribution, a leader in the industry’s alternate home delivery solutions, have announced they have partnered with newspaper industry veteran Mark Henschen to form Horizon Delivery, LLC.
Horizon Delivery will address the publishing industry’s demand for a reliable partner to outsource all core home delivery functions, including traditional daily subscription-based delivery. Horizon is also leveraging its expertise and reach to build upon its local operations to add new lines of non-traditional home delivery revenue.
Henschen has been named Horizon’s President and CEO. His most recent position as publisher of the Arizona Daily Star was preceded by a very successful run in circulation with stops at Gannett, Lee Enterprises and Howard Publications. In 2015, he was inducted into the Anderson-Hanna National Circulation Director Hall of Fame for his lifetime of achievement and innovations.
“We launched Global to service a specific niche within the publishing industry," Global President Kennedy Higdon said. “Forming Horizon now affords us the opportunity to address another key industry need where reliable options remain limited for the delivery of the more traditional daily programs."
Henschen added, “Horizon Delivery was formed to assist the newspaper industry with reliable quality delivery. By putting a premium on delivering industry-leading quality, we help every one of our partners maximize their subscriber revenue potential which positively impacts the bottom-line."
Global’s COO Pete Friedrich said, “Global’s success is based on out-of-the-box thinking to address changes in the industry, and that is what Mark brings to the daily home delivery side. Horizon will be the new benchmark for home delivery operations, and will meet the performance levels that will propel the company to become the only viable solution in the industry.”
