By: E&P Staff Glunz & Jensen K&F, Granger, Ind., has announced the following plate bender and lockups sales for the month of October:
The Hamilton (Ontario) Spectator, Ontario purchased two ProVision Alliance AC benders, two plate stackers and 336 Wide-gap/No-tool press registration lockups. Installation is set for January.
The Hartford (Conn.) Courant ordered three ProVision Alliance AC benders, three new CD-conveyors, six four-position plate stackers, three CM-30 conveyors, and 4 UTMs. Additionally, with an upcoming web reduction from 50 inches to 48 inches, the Courant ordered 320 Wide-gap/No-tool lockups. Installations begin in January.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel Co., Fort Lauderdale, ordered conveyors and sorting system for its Deerfield Beach plant. Installation of a CM-40, CM-66, four UTMs, eight plate stackers (two plate positions) and one bar code reader will be completed in January.
Tech-Energy Co., Cibolo, Texas, placed pre-registration lockup orders for several of its custsomers. The Lebanon (Pa.) Daily News will receive 40 CML single-acting locks; The Times-News, Burlington, N.C., will receive 56 Wide-gap/No-tool lockups, and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette will receive magnetic shims for letterpress. Installations will begin in the spring.
The Morning Call, Allentown, Pa., bought a ProVision Alliance bender, two four-position plate stackers, one blank plate feeder and one CM-36 Conveyor. Allentown also ordered a retrofit for its VIPB-32, which will be completed this month. The new-product installations are scheduled for spring.
The Times Herald Record Middletown, N.Y., also purchased a new Pro Vision Alliance bender, CM-36 Conveyor and one two-position plate stacker. Installation begins in January.
Glunz & Jensen KF is the American subsidiary of Denmark's Glunz & Jensen A/S, which acquired K&F International last year in an effort to expand its prepress equipment offering with plate punch/bending, plate transport systems and plate lockup technologies.
