G.M. Richard Amberg Retires From 'Washington Times'

By: E&P Staff Richard H. Amberg, general manager and associate publisher of The Washington Times, retired Thursday after a 43-year newspaper career that included the past 10 years at the Times.

He had previously served as president and publisher of the Montgomery (Ala.) Advertiser and vice president of Multimedia Newspaper Co.; executive editor and general manager of the old St. Louis Globe-Democrat; general manager of the Fredericksburg, Va. Free Lance-Star; assistant editor at the Syracuse (N.Y.) Post-Standard; and management trainee at Advance Publications at the Staten Island Advance.
