By: E&P Staff GMA recently inked two new deals in Florida with The Tampa Tribune and The Daily Sun in Lady Lake. Both acquisitions involved SLS3000 Inserters, pushing the total number sold for this line to over 115 units since its introduction in 2001.
The Tampa Tribune, a Media General property, purchased four SLS3000 Inserters: two 14:2 standard units and two Dual Delivery units (18:2 and 40:2). In addition, the newspaper added SAMPlans Production Planning software, which integrates production information from all relevant departments into one common source. The largest machine, the 40:2 dual delivery inserter, is currently being installed with the other three scheduled for 2006 delivery. The equipment will be installed at the downtown main facility and a second offsite location where the paper package its Sunday edition and TMC (Total Market Coverage) product.
The Daily Sun purchased one 8:2 SLS3000 Inserter and five AF300 Hopper Loaders.
