By: (AP) The Boston Globe and Dallas Morning News were among seven newspapers that finished in the Top 10 in daily, Sunday, and special section judging in the Associated Press Sports Editors contest that ended Wednesday.
The Globe and Morning News were picked in all three categories of the over-250,000 circulation division.
The Hartford Courant, Palm Beach Post, and Seattle Times earned Top 10 finishes in the 100,000-to-250,000 division. The Newport News (Va.) Daily Press swept in the 40,000-to-100,000 category and the Longmont (Colo.) Daily Times-Call earned triple honors in the under-40,000 circulation division.
Top 10 finalists also were picked in the writing contest in six categories of all circulation divisions, and 10 overall finalists were chosen for investigative reporting. Writing winners will be announced in late March.
