By: Seth Porges No matter how incendiary her writing might be, conservative columnist Ann Coulter can be very warm and friendly when she thinks she is among political allies.
The waifish blonde was spotted outside New York's luxurious Gotham Hall Tuesday night following a Republican National Convention-related party for GOP heavy hitters thrown by radio personality and former first son Michael Reagan. When asked for a picture with her, Coulter readily agreed ... as long as she was able to keep moving away from the protesters who had begun to gather outside the event.
"Sure, as long as you walk this way with us," Coulter said with a smile before posing for three pictures.
"I just loved your Democratic National Convention column," the reporter said to Coulter.
"Yeah, tell that to USA Today," Coulter responded playfully. Her first and only column for that paper, of course, never appeared, due to a squabble over editing. The killed column had opened with "Here at the Spawn of Satan convention in Boston."
It is unclear if Coulter, who is often vilified by the so-called "liberal media" for her divisive tone and frequent factual errors, would have been as friendly were she not talking to guests (or in this case, party crashers) of an RNC-related event.
But Coulter was not the only one convinced that the reporter belonged at the GOP party. Upon exiting Gotham Hall, protesters yelled at the reporter, "Go back to the cage you came from!"
