Goss CEO Comments on Muller Martini Lawsuits

Posted
By: E&P Staff In response to Muller Martini's announcement that it had filed suits against Goss International (E&P Online, Dec. 6), Goss CEO Bob Brown said in a prepared statement today that his company believes that Muller Martini Corp. and Muller Martini Mailroom Systems Inc. "commenced the Delaware and Minnesota lawsuits in an attempt to divert attention from the patent lawsuit currently pending in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois that Goss International commenced against the Muller Martini companies in 2005. (See E&P, April 2006, and E&P Online, Aug. 30, 2007)

Goss, Brown added, is confident its non-infringement and patent-invalidity claims will prevail in both suits, as will its counterclaims.

Brown pointed out that Goss bases those counterclaims against the Muller Martini companies on a Goss patent that was not asserted in the 2005 litigation.
