By: E&P Staff Goss International, in Bolingbrook, Ill., announced the sales of Community and Universal 75 singlewide presses to expand installations for existing customers in Brazil and Italy.

Brazilian media group RBS ordered a two-high tower addition for the Goss Community press at its Caxias do Sul site. The new equipment will allow its local daily, O Pioneiro, to add color pages or an additional 16 black-only pages to the current tabloid format.

RBS, which acquired O Pioneiro in 1993, has chosen Goss for a number of major projects. Its Zero Hora runs Newsliner and Metroliner presses, and Goss also provided tower additions and digital inking enhancements for the publication.

At the Grafitalia international print show earlier this month, Goss International announced a number of new sales, among which was a Goss Universal 75 to Galeati Industrie Grafiche for its plant in Bologna, Italy. Configured with two four-high towers, a folder and two splicers, the press will increase color capacity at the plant, which specializes in short-run weekly newspapers.

Claudio Minerva, from New Age, Goss' newspaper agent for the Italian market, said Goss has sold more than 100 newspaper press units there in the last three years in Italy, where there has been "a growing interest in retrofits and tower additions" among publishers looking to further expand capacity after major press installations.Goss International announced Community and Universal 75 singlewide press sales to expand installations for existing customers in Brazil and Italy.
