By: E&P Staff Hong Kong-based Sing Tao News Corp. has ordered a Goss Uniliner a Goss Uniliner S to increase capacity in printing Hong Kong's largest free newspaper, Headline Daily, which launched two years ago.
The new Goss doublewide presses will enable Sing Tao to expand production to match the growth of Headline Daily, and will reduce pressure on its current production schedule, allowing previously outsourced print to be brought back in house.
The shaftless two-plates-around around Uniliner will have a 23.12-inch cut-off and consist of three four-high towers, three reelstands and a 2:5:5 jaw folder. The one-plate-around Uniliner S will be configured as five four-high towers, five reelstands and a 2:5:5 jaw folder. Both presses will run at 80,000 cph, providing Sing Tao with flexibility and versatility to print a range of products and will be located in a new plant built for the purpose in an industrial park.
