Goss Upgrades NYT Co. Regionals' Presses

Posted
By: E&P Staff The New York Times Co. and Goss International agreed to a
second phase of press upgrades that call for using Goss press controls and digital inking at six printing facilities: Ocala, Gainesville, and Lakeland, Fla.; Wilmington, N.C.; Spartanburg, S.C.; and Santa Rosa, Calif.

Since 2002, The Times Co. has ordered Goss Digital Inking for more than 350 printing couples, making it the largest customer for this upgrade.

The new press controls will provide a common data format, enabling standardized reporting for all sites as well as enhancing the presses' operating efficiencies with powerful Windows-based PCs.
