Grahams Sell Some Family-Owned Stock

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Washington Post Company's Graham family is converting about 22% of their Class A shares and selling them on the open market as Class B shares.

The Graham family controls the company's Class A shares, which have super voting rights, while the public can hold Class B shares.

The company's Chief Financial Officer John Morse told Bloomberg's Miles Weiss the family is acting as a group and that the conversion may have to do with estate planning.

The move will not affect the Grahams status at the company since the family will still control 70% of the board's seats.
