Guest Cartoonist for 'Rhymes With Orange'

By: Dave Astor Hilary Price arranged for a guest cartoonist to do her "Rhymes With Orange" comic this week in order to take a honeymoon.

"I got married in September to my partner Kerry LaBounty -- yep, legal and everything, we're in Massachusetts -- and then went on my honeymoon the second two weeks of October," Price told E&P. "We went to Botswana, slept in tents, saw elephants, hippos, and lions. Anyway, I got a week ahead for the strips, then had Mary Lawton do a week for me."

Lawton's cartoons have appeared in newspapers and magazines since 1983. She's also an illustrator and painter.

"I've been an admirer of Mary's work since the early '90s," said Price, whose comic is syndicated by King Features.

Waymo’s model makes the case for AI, with measurable consumer benefits

What can a self-driving car teach news publishers about AI? Quite a lot, according to Guy Tasaka. How Dublin Inquirer uses legal risk assessments to keep accountability journalism moving

When Dublin Inquirer publishes a sensitive accountability story, the challenge isn’t just reporting the facts. It’s deciding whether a small, seven-person newsroom can afford the legal risks that sometimes come with telling the public what it needs to know. For editor and co-founder Sam Tranum and deputy editor Lois Kapila, those decisions once came down to late-night conversations and educated guesswork. Today, the independent Dublin newsroom relies on Reporters Shield’s Legal Risk Assessment service to help identify potential legal vulnerabilities before publication—allowing journalists to move forward with greater confidence while keeping important stories alive.
