Guy Raz takes ownership of How I Built This and partners with Vox Media

Guy Raz is acquiring full ownership of How I Built This from NPR and partnering with Vox Media to expand the entrepreneurship podcast, according to a joint announcement Tuesday. Vox will support sales, marketing, distribution, business operations and live experiences as Raz takes control of the franchise he created.

The partners plan to introduce video episodes on YouTube and social platforms later this fall and double the show’s publishing volume in early 2027. They also intend to develop new live events. The transaction offers another example of a prominent host pairing ownership of a program with the commercial and distribution resources of a larger media company.
