Handelsman to Co-chair 'Cartoons & Cocktails 2007'

By: E&P Staff Editorial cartoonist Walt Handelsman has been named co-chair of the Oct. 3 "Cartoons & Cocktails 2007" fund-raising event at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Handelsman -- winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning -- is with Newsday of Melville, N.Y., and Tribune Media Services.

"Cartoons & Cocktails" is an annual event, dating back 20 years, that includes an auction of original editorial cartoon art. The money raised benefits the "Young D.C." teen newspaper, Cartoonists Rights Network International, and the National Press Club scholarship program.
