Harris Ad Systems at Gannett

Posted
By: E&P Staff Harris & Baseview, MediaSpan's Melbourne, Fla.-based publishing division, sold AdPower and AdWebster to Gannett's Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal, which will use the AdPower database and server at The Journal News, White Plains, N.Y., an AdPower user since 1998.

Able to handle complex rate structures, AdPower components work together to create an advertising environment that blends sales, production and reporting.

AdWebster allows customers to order classified ads directly over the Internet. The look and feel of each advertising Web site can be modified, using the standard tools with only cosmetic branding changes or completely restructuring the tools, preserving only components that interact with AdPower.

The 40,504-circulation Journal's purchase included Harris & Baseview AdWebster Hosting Services, which are provided 24/7 via dedicated servers.

For its 10 titles, Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers is now live with hosted AdWebster and AdPower 2.3, an upgrade incorporating new security features that include password and credit card encryption/decryption. Other enhancements include audit-trail details.

Another Gannett site, The Burlington (Vt.) Free Press, also went live with AdWebster.
