By: Connecticut-based Heartland Publications will buy four daily newspapers and other publications from Mid-South Management.
The daily newspapers in the deal, for which the purchase price was not disclosed, are The Union Daily Times in South Carolina, LaGrange Daily News in Georgia and The Laurinburg Exchange and The Mount Airy News in North Carolina.
Nondaily North Carolina papers are the Tribune in Elkin-Jonesville, Stokes News in King, The Yadkin Ripple in Yadkinville, The Jefferson Post in West Jefferson, Rural Hall Weekly Independent in Rural Hall and The Pilot in Pilot Mountain.
