Heather Persson Named Editor of Saskatoon StarPhoenix

In taking on the top editorial position at the StarPhoenix in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Heather Persson has made history at the 112-year-old publication.

Persson, who this week took over as editor of the StarPhoenix, is the first woman to hold the position since the newspaper began publishing in 1902.

"I think that being the first female editor is something to celebrate, because it may make other women feel like they can achieve anything they want in whatever profession they've gone into," Persson said.
