Announcement from Features Editor Ben Williams:

We are excited to announce that Herb Scribner will be joining The Washington Post as a breaking news reporter in Features.

Herb, whose first name is pronounced with a hard “H,” comes to The Post from Axios, where he worked for the past year covering all types of news, from Taylor Swift and Ticketmaster to national politics.

Before Axios, Herb spent eight years at the Deseret News as an entertainment reporter and editor, surviving a 59-hour Marvel movie marathon and writing an award-winning story about violence in the movie “Joker.” Herb was once featured by The Washington Post in a story about relationships.

Herb has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. In addition to playing NBA 2K more than he’d like to admit, Herb has written a few science fiction novels and is one of 11 people followed by KFC on Twitter. He lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with his wife and their corgi, Barkley. They will be moving to D.C. this summer.

Herb’s first day is April 10. Please join us in welcoming him to The Post.
