By: Staff reports Black Expects Deals By July
After putting many of its American and Canadian newspapers up for sale, Hollinger
International Inc. says it has received 'high interest' in the titles, according to
a Reuters report. CEO Conrad Black told the wire service this week that deals could
be expected by mid-July.
Hollinger says it is selling the newspapers to pay down debt and to revive the company's
stock. The company's properties include the Chicago Sun-Times and National Post in
Canada. These properties are not for sale.
Hollinger is looking to sell many of the 302 non-dailies in its stable.
