By: Dave Astor Universal Press Syndicate is offering a second publishing of "The Holly Wreath Man," a serialized novel originally carried by newspapers last year. It is scheduled to run Dec. 1-25.
The Christmas-themed story is by Christopher Scanlan and Katharine Fair, who are married to each other. Scanlan is a senior faculty member at The Poynter Institute and Fair is an ad copywriter and subsitute teacher.
Illustrating the serial is Jillian Gilliland, who said she's creating three new drawings for the second publishing. Gilliland also illustrates the Universal-syndicated "Tell Me a Story," a weekly feature that includes tales adapted by Amy Friedman.
In related news, "The Holly Wreath Man" is being developed as a TV movie by AMUSE (a sister company to Universal) and Chris/Rose Productions. Scanlan and Fair wrote the screenplay.
