By: Staff Reports East Coast Gets Late News In Digital Form
The Hollywood Reporter, the daily trade publication on the entertainment industry, plans to launch a digital edition for the East Coast on Monday.
Current press deadlines mean that late-breaking West Coast stories don't always make the deadlines for the East Coast.
So the newly named THR-East will be distributed via e-mail with attached Adobe Acrobat Reader files, allowing East Coast readers access to late-breaking West Coast stories. The edition will have a midnight EST deadline.
Users can read the paper on screen or printed out. THR-East will use full-color graphics and will resemble the daily print edition. The digital edition will be offered free to East Coast subscribers for an introductory period.
THR-East also will carry columns by New York editors and reporters on Wall Street, network TV, and other New York-based media. Included will be coverage of Broadway and a daily calendar of New York City's events.
The Hollywood Reporter's parent company is the Netherlands-based VNU, which also owns E&PP>
