'Honolulu Advertiser' Editor Keyes Will Leave to Teach Journalism

Posted
By: E&P Staff Honolulu Advertiser editor Saundra Keyes is leaving the newspaper and will return to teaching journalism at the University of Nevada in Reno.

Keyes has worked at the Gannett-owned Adevertiser for over five years. She had previously worked at Knight-Ridder papers.

"It's so hard to leave Hawaii and to leave our newsroom. I just love the colleagues that I work with, but it's exciting to think of new generations of journalists," the paper quoted Keyes as saying.

Managing Editor Mark Platte will replace Keyes, though no timetable for the transition has been determined.
