How Free Is Your Country's Press?

Reporters Without Borders has released its 2010 World Press Freedom Index, which criticizes many European cities for not improving their relationships with journalists and lists the usual places you don't want to be a reporter, such as China, North Korea and Iran. The Freedom Index examines countries for violations of the protection of journalist sources and contempt by government against reporters, to name a few. "It is disturbing to see several European Union member countries continuing to fall in the index," said Reporters Without Borders secretary-general Jean-François Julliard. "If it does not pull itself together, the European Union risks losing its position as world leader in respect for human rights."
