At Boulder Weekly, we have covered homelessness since our inception: how city ordinances preventing urban camping often led to jail time and criminal records for people experiencing homelessness; how Front Range communities refused to allow tiny homes for the homeless; how the county’s focus on housing could leave many people without services. While these stories investigated the problems with local homelessness policies, they did little to explain alternative solutions. The pandemic changed that.
