The New York Times last week outlined its ambitious plans for its future in an 11-page memo that detailed how the paper thinks it can double its digital revenue by 2020.
In order to meet its goal of making $800 million in digital, the Times said it would need to become even more reliant on its readers. The Times signed up its millionth digital subscriber this summer, but the memo said the paper would need to “more than double the number of engaged digital readers.”
