Huffington Post Launches Expanded 'Eat the Press' Media Site

Posted
By: E&P Staff The popular blog Huffington Post launched a greatly expanded version of its Eat the Press feature this afternoon, with many new features, charts and rankings.

In a separate note, HuffPost co-founder Arianna Huffington calls it "our one-stop shop for the media aficionado. ... a banquet of media news, views, blogs, gossip and much, much more. ... Luckily, one of the things the blogosphere does best is hold the mainstream media's feet to the fire, and we intend to keep the Eat the Press burners on high."

Eat the Press was originally the brainchild of Harry Shearer.

HuffPost's Rachel Sklar, editor of the new site, explains that the new expanded site gathers most of the media-related posts on the main site, along with other links, "addictive" rankings and some original items. Among the latter is a piece about a Boston Herald story today that borrowed rather heavily from an E&P Online article yesterday on the new Vanity Fair take on "The Da Vinci Code" and, ironically, charges of plagiarism.
