By: E&P Staff iMedia International -- the Santa Monica, Calif.-based company that provides entertainment related CD-ROMs to newspapers -- launched a national advertising network.

The iMedia Newspaper Network (INN) builds upon three newspaper relationships: The Dallas Morning News, the New York Daily News, and newspapers within MediaNews Group's Los Angeles Newspaper Group (LANG).

"With 10 newspaper partners in three major U.S. markets, we can now offer local, regional, and national advertisers the opportunity to reach new audiences with fully interactive multimedia, and drive new traffic to their Web sites and online stores," said Henry Williamson, president of newspaper syndication for iMedia, in a statement. "We believe that our products provide a great opportunity for newspapers to recapture much of the ad budgets they have been losing to cable TV and the Internet."

INN has a circulation of about 2 million subscribers with its CD-ROM magazine distributed in Sunday newspapers that provides movie previews, interviews, music, and games.

As part of each partnership, iMedia provides a customized micro-site that will be embedded on the Web sties of each newspaper.
