By: E&P Staff William Kennedy has been named executive editor of The Indiana (Pa.) Gazette.
Kennedy, 51, served as executive editor at The Topeka (Kan.) Capital-Journal for two years. He started his newspaper career at The Times-Leader in Bellaire and Martins Ferry, Ohio, where he was a reporter and city editor. He was also a copy desk chief and news editor at The Vindicator in Youngstown, Ohio, and served as managing editor at The Augusta (Ga.) Chronicle.
He replaces Samuel J. Bechtel, who resigned in August.
