Injured Trudeau Returns to 'Doonesbury'

Posted
By: E&P Staff New "Doonesbury" strips returned to newspapers starting today after Garry Trudeau took two weeks off to recover from a broken collarbone.

Trudeau, who was injured while skiing last month, came back with a bang. He did a comic that may have referenced the death of journalist Hunter S. Thompson, the partial model for the Uncle Duke character. (See story.)

Universal Press Syndicate distributed reruns for two weeks to the 1,400 "Doonesbury" clients.
