By: E&P Staff The International Newspaper Group's board voted yesterday to postpone the group's annual conference, originally scheduled for Sept. 22-24.

"Given the realities of our economic challenges, and being realistic about budget and attendance concerns, we feel it's the right choice at the right time to postpone," said ING Board President and New York Times Managing Director, National Production, Todd Socia.

The ING's announcement said that although "rightsizing cost structures to better align with revenue trends" is now commanding the "full attention in our production facilities," it expects to resume its annual conference next year.

Founded in 1975, the non-profit ING is a forum for information sharing among managers and executives in newspaper production operations.
