By: E&P Staff Internet advertising revenue soared 25.3% to $5.2 billion in Q3 compared to the same period a year ago -- setting a new record, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).
The increase comes on the heels of last quarter's results Q3 Internet advertising revenue grew 3% compared to Q2. All three quarters in 2007 set new highs at $4.9 billion (Q1), $5.1 billion (Q2), and $5.2 billion (Q3).
"The continued robust growth of the industry indicates that marketers increasingly understand and appreciate the benefits of interactive advertising," Randall Rothenberg, president and CEO of the IAB, said in a statement.
PWC has been tracking Internet advertising revenue on behalf of the IAB since 1996. The survey includes data concerning online advertising revenues from Web sites, commercial online services, free e-mail providers, and all other companies selling online advertising.
