What was supposed to be The Valley Chronicle's final edition on September 16 was anything but after a Nevada businessman agreed to buy the Hemet newspaper last week.

Eric Buskirk, owner and publisher of the weekly Henderson Press in Nevada and founder of technology company Verican, which contracts with newspapers to improve their online and print advertising revenue, will assume ownership of the 10-year-old Hemet and San Jacinto weekly paper Monday.

The terms of the deal with Buskirk weren't revealed.
