By: E&P Staff A study found that Inter Press Service (IPS) is doing the best job among news agencies in covering the United Nations' eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
The study, by University of Washington Prof. Anthony Giffard, was released at an Oct. 28 media workshop in Florence, Italy. Giffard said IPS "displayed more balance in terms of the regions covered" and focused more on women than other news agencies.
MDGs include eradicating poverty, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality, and combating HIV/AIDS.
