Iran-Related 'Mianeh' Site Has MCT News Service Connection

By: E&P Staff An initiative to promote "dialogue, debate, and understanding" among Iranians -- and between Iranians and the international community -- has been launched by the London-based Institute for War & Peace Reporting.

IWPR's commentary is distributed worldwide by McClatchy-Tribune News Service, which is marketed by the Tribune Media Services syndicate.

The independent initiative includes a Farsi- and English-language Web site that launched May 3 with 10 stories examining international, nuclear, and regional issues; as well as Internet filtering, censorship, and the role of the student movement. The site is called "Mianeh," which means "middle" or "neutral" in Farsi.
