By: E&P Staff Montreal-based Ixiasoft, native XML database and search engine developer, and Seattle-based Ingeniux Corp., provider of XML-based Web content management and publishing systems, reached an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement under which Ingeniux will embed TextML Server in an enterprise version of its content management system.

Ingeniux CMS with Ixiasoft TextML Server is to be available this summer. The companies expect their combined technologies to provide a scalable "end-to-end XML platform for managing the content lifecycle, including Web authoring, document authoring, asset management, workflow, publishing, search, and archiving."

Ixiasoft says its XML database and search engine is designed for developers who require advanced storing, indexing, and searching capabilities for their applications. Ingeniux CMS was developed to enable nontechnical users to contribute to and manage the Web publishing process.

As the native XML repository for the Ingeniux platform, TextML Server allows Ingeniux "to better serve customers who need to manage and publish massive volumes of Web content," Ingeniux CEO Jim Edmunds said in a statement. "It also allows us to extend our feature set in the key areas of search, document management and digital asset management."
