'Janesville Gazette' Switches to Mornings

Posted
By: The Janesville Gazette will publish in the mornings starting in April.

The daily newspaper has published in the afternoon for 164 years.

General manager Dave Johnson said Wednesday the company has discussed the move for more than a decade. He says the change is coming now because the company finally has the technology and press capacity to support it.

The change goes into effect April 27. That's the same day the newspaper will launch a Walworth County edition.

The Gazette currently publishes an afternoon edition Monday through Friday and a morning paper Saturday and Sunday.

A 2008 Audit Bureau of Circulation report says the Gazette's circulation is about 24,000 on Sundays and about 20,000 on weekdays and Saturday.
