By: Meg Campbell Two Japanese Publishers have placed orders totaling $2.2M with Baldwin Technology Company, Shelton, Conn.
Yomiuri Shimbun has ordered Baldwin's spray-dampening and blanket-cleaning systems for a Mitsubishi printing press at its new facility in Kiba. Yomiuri, the world's largest publisher, has a daily circulation of 10 million newspapers printed at 29 facilities. Delivery is slated for the winter of 2010.
Iwate Nichinichi Shimbun of Tohuku has ordered Baldwin's spray-dampening systems, blanket-cleaning systems and ink roller cleaning systems for Sendai Kosoku Offset, one of five printing facilities the publisher owns and operates. The equipment is scheduled for delivery in the fall of 2010.
