Managing director Randy Cope, directors John Cribb and Gary Greene have named Jeffrey Potts of Gold Country Advisors (Folsom, Calif.) senior associate at Cribb, Greene & Cope.

Potts has more than 18 years of experience brokering the sale of a wide range of businesses, from newspaper publishing to information technology, manufacturing, distribution, and business-to-business service firms. He started in the brokerage profession in 1999 at Dirks, Van Essen& Murray, serving as vice-president there before moving to his hometown of Sacramento in 2003 where he continued to broker the sale of community newspapers. In 2009, he founded Gold Country Advisors to apply his experience to a broader base of business and industry in Northern California.
Before his career as an mergers and acquisition specialist, Potts held management positions with Freedom Communications, Inc. Prior to that, he was a business writer for USA TODAY and the Desert Sun in Palm Springs, Calif. His first job out of college was as a news wire service reporter for the City News Bureau of Chicago.
