By: E&P Staff Gannett named Jennifer Carroll to vice president/new media content in the newspaper division. Most recently she was director of news development at the company.
?Jennifer?s work over the years, particularly during the last year as we have been moving more content to new platforms, has been extraordinary,? Sue Clark-Johnson, president of the newspaper division, said in a statement.
Carroll joined the corporate staff in the news development role in 2000. Prior to that she was managing editor at The Detroit News and executive editor of The Burlington (Vt.) Free Press. She began her career as a reporter at the Times-Herald in Port Huron, Mich.
She is also a member on the task force for the American Press Institute?s Newspaper Next: The Transformation Project. Earlier this year, Carroll was named Gannett Corporate Staffer of the Year.
