By: E&P Staff Jerry Robinson is scheduled to speak this Sunday at the Montclair (N.J.) Art Museum as part of a one-day comic book convention held in conjunction with MAM's "Reflecting Culture: The Evolution of American Comic Heroes" exhibit.
Robinson, 85, created the Joker and inspired the name Robin while working on Batman comic books more than 60 years ago.
He went on to become a syndicated editorial cartoonist, comics historian, cartoon-exhibit curator, president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists and the National Cartoonists Society, and founder of the Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate (now marketed by the New York Times Syndicate).
Back in September, Robinson and his son Jens (vice president and editor of CWS) traveled to China to participate in a comics and animation festival. Jerry was the featured guest.
