Jim Afinowich to Represent Rickenbacher Media

Jim Afinowich, a former owner of a chain of community newspapers, will represent Rickenbacher Media as its affiliate for the western United States, the Dallas-based newspaper broker said.

Afinowich will represent owners selling publications in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Montana, and Idaho, Rickenbacher said. Afinowich began in the newspaper business at the age of 23 when he bought the Nogales (Ariz.) International, which he eventually converted to a daily. He was president of the Arizona Newspaper Association in 1982.

Afinowich is a founding partner of Fox & Fin Financial Group, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based mergers and acquisitions group.
