By: Mark Fitzgerald Jim Davis has donated a "Garfield" comic strip for publication on International Literacy Day, Sept. 8. The strips are available for the World Association of Newspapers (WAN).
Davis is also donating a version of the strip with a blank last panel that can be used as a contest for "the best thing Garfield could have said about the newspaper on International Literacy Day," WAN said.
WAN notes that the strip is for publication only on Sept. 8 with a mandatory credit line that reads, "Courtesy: Paws, Inc. Garfield (c) Paws. All rights reserved. Provided by Universal Press Syndicate and the World Association of Newspapers to celebrate newspaper reading on International Literacy Day (8 September)."
