Jim Fogler has been named president and publisher of the Poughkeepsie (N.Y.) Journal.

Fogler was president and publisher of The Ithaca (N.Y.) Journal from May 2004 to October 2007 and the Burlington Free Press in Vermont from September 2010 to September 2014. Between those posts, he was vice president of marketing for the Democrat and Chronicle.

Most recently, Fogler was chief marketing officer for Party City, and previously was that retailer’s vice president of business development.
