Joe Potente, editor of the Kenosha News
Joe Potente has been named editor of the Kenosha (Wis.) News and Mike Larsen has been named managing editor.
Since June 2013, Potente has been assignment editor of the News. He began as a journalist at the News in February 2004, covering a range of stories as political and county government reporter. Prior to joining the News, Potente was a general assignment reporter for the Capital Times in Madison, Wis. In 2003 he received his bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication and history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Potente also had experience in the Studios of Potente, Inc., a family business founded in 1920.
Larsen has been digital and entertainment editor of the News since November 2014. He began at the News as a sports journalist in August 1999. From 2003 to 2013 Larsen was president of the Kenosha Newspaper Guild Local 34159 and was lead negotiator on four successive collective bargaining agreements. In 1998 Larsen earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from UW-Madison, with emphasis in news editorial, broadcasting and advertising.
