Jones Named Ad Sales Sr. VP at 'USA Today'

By: E&P Staff Gordon Lee Jones III has been named senior vice president of advertising sales for USA Today, where he replaces Brett Wilson, who resigned late last year.

Formerly senior vice president, sales and marketing, for all platforms of the Newsday Media Group/Cablevision, Long Island, N.Y., Jones earlier was Tribune Co. senior vice president, national sales, for print and digital. While with Tribune Co., he was responsible for the sales and support team, managed its Tribune Media Net internal national rep firm, and launched both the direct-response sales group and the Major Metro Media Group.

Before joining Tribune Co., Jones served as senior vice president and group publisher of Inc. Magazine and Fast Company for G+J Publishing, USA, senior vice president and group publisher of Ziff Davis Publishing's Smart Business and PC Computing magazines, and senior vice president and group publisher for Entrepreneur, Business Start-ups and Entrepreneur 500 publications for Entrepreneur Media, Inc.
