By: The Associated Press Journal Register Co., publisher of the New Haven Register and other newspapers, said Tuesday it expects revenue from its online businesses to rise about 45 percent to $9 million for all of 2005.

Robert Jelenic, the company's chairman and CEO, said the company anticipates total page views at its sites to be over 200 million in 2005, representing an annual compound growth rate of 33 percent since 2000.

Speaking to an investor conference sponsored by the Newspaper Association of America, an industry group, Jelenic also cautioned that auto advertising remained sluggish at most of the company's newspapers.

The company also reaffirmed its earnings guidance of 34 to 36 cents per share for the second quarter, which is slightly above the 34 cents that analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial were expecting. Its shares rose 25 cents to $17.56 on the New York Stock Exchange.
