Journal Sentinel to Print 'USA Today'

By: E&P Staff Journal Sentinel Inc. said today it signed a five-year agreement to print Gannett's USA Today for distribution in the northern and western suburbs of Chicago and the eastern half of Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee-based Journal Communications subsidiary expects to print more than 75,000 copies of USA Today Monday through Friday, beginning late next month, at its Burnham Street plant. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

"In choosing Journal Sentinel, USA Today cited our world-class newspaper production facility, our exceptional team, the superiority of our color reproduction, our significant capacity and our centralized location," Journal Communications President and Chief Operating Officer Elizabeth Brenner said in a statement.

Each four-section issue of USA Today contains as many as 64 pages, with up to 20 in full color. A fifth bonus section will be added to the production run as necessary.
