NEW YORK — Hearst announced that Juliana Stock, president of marketing and digital at A+E Global Media, has been named president of Hearst Magazines. Debi Chirichella, who has served as president of Hearst Magazines since 2020, will become chair of the group.

The announcement was made by Steven R. Swartz, president and chief executive officer of Hearst, and is effective Jan. 1, 2027. Stock and Chirichella will report to both Swartz and Jordan Wertlieb, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Hearst.

As the world's largest lifestyle publisher, Hearst Magazines has a portfolio of more than 30 brands in the U.S., 175 websites and more than 200 magazine editions worldwide.

“We welcome Juliana back to the magazine business after more than a decade of leadership positions across digital video, marketing and general management at our A+E Networks,” said Swartz. “With Debi’s help, she will build on our great brands and great people to lead the next phase of growth in this business in which we have enjoyed a leadership position for more than 100 years.”

“Juliana is the right leader for Hearst Magazines at this important moment,” said Wertlieb. “We’re fortunate that Debi will stay closely involved as chair and a senior strategic advisor.”

“Hearst Magazines sets the standard for lifestyle journalism, and I’m honored to join a group with such powerful brands and such a talented team,” said Stock. “Audiences are engaging with our content in more ways than ever, including digitally, and there’s a real opportunity to deepen those connections while continuing to deliver the trusted, high-quality print experiences our readers love. I’m grateful to Steve, Jordan and Debi for their confidence and excited to get to work.”

“It has been a privilege to lead Hearst Magazines and the extraordinary journalists, editors and teams who make it the world’s largest lifestyle publisher,” said Chirichella. “I’m proud of what we’ve built together, and as chair I look forward to supporting Juliana and our domestic and international teams as we continue to grow these iconic brands.”

In 2025, Stock was promoted to president of marketing and digital at A+E Global Media. In this role, she led the company’s trade and global consumer marketing, digital strategy and audience engagement initiatives across the brand portfolio which includes A&E, HISTORY, Lifetime, FYI and LMN.

Most recently, Stock reshaped A+E Global Media’s marketing approach across the company by realigning operations, building purpose-driven teams and developing audience-first strategies that deliver measurable results.

On the digital side, she oversaw the A+E Global Media ecosystem. Initiatives included the relaunch of HISTORY.com, the scaling of direct-to-consumer products (HISTORY Vault, Lifetime Movie Club, A&E Crime Central) and the growth of powerful audiences across social platforms and YouTube via dynamic digital exclusives such as “Command Decisions: Presidents on the Brink” with historian Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Since joining A+E Global Media in 2013, Stock held senior positions: chief marketing and brand officer, where she was part of A+E Global Media’s brand transformation and a driving force in repositioning the company’s identity; chief of staff to the president and chairman; and senior vice president of corporate brand strategy.

Prior to A+E Global Media, Stock spent more than a decade at Condé Nast, where she helped launch the first websites and iOS magazine apps — WIRED, GQ and Vanity Fair, among others.

Stock’s leadership and contributions have been recognized by Adweek’s 20 Under 40 Young Influentials, Brand Innovators Top 50 Women in Brand Marketing and Cablefax’s Most Powerful Women.

Since 2020, Chirichella has served as senior vice president of Hearst and president of Hearst Magazines, after working as executive vice president, chief financial officer and director of global operations. Chirichella is a member of the Hearst board of directors.

She joined Hearst Magazines as senior vice president and chief financial officer in November 2011, overseeing the company’s strategic financial planning and reporting. From 2008 until early 2011, she was chief operating officer of Condé Nast Digital; simultaneously, beginning in 2010, she was COO of the Fairchild Fashion Group.
