Julie Moreno Named Publisher of 'The East Valley Tribune'

By: E&P Staff Julie Moreno has been named publisher of The East Valley Tribune, a paper that covers the Phoenix, Ariz., area.

Moreno is currently publisher of The Sun of Yuma, Ariz., as well as Pacific regional vice president for Freedom Communications, the parent company of both the Tribune and the Sun.

Moreno has worked at Freedom Communications for more than 20 years, starting out as an account executive at The Brownsville (Texas) Herald. She served as co-op advertising manager, director of advertising, and director of sales at the Herald. At the Clovis (N.M.) News Journal, Moreno worked as publisher. In addition to her work at the News Journal, she worked as senior publisher of Freedom Newspapers of New Mexico. Moreno has held the post of regional vice president of Freedom's Pacific region since 2004.
