Juliet Lapidos Leaves the New York Times to Become Los Angeles Times Op-Ed Page Editor

Juliet Lapidos will be the new op-ed page editor ofThe Los Angeles Times. She’s also written for the Atlantic, the New York Times Book Review, Bookforum, the Awl, the New York Observer and the websites of the New Republic and the New Yorker, among other places.

Juliet is a staff editor at the New York Times, where she has spent the last four years writing editorials and editing “Taking Note,” the blog of the editorial board. She’s a former associate editor at the online magazine Slate, where she wrote frequently and edited the Explainer column, as well as regular columns on subjects as disparate as food, drink, religion and television. She will be starting her new position in mid-March.
